Apple sourcing new component suppliers for the iPad 3 to hopefully cut high retail price

ipad 3 retail price

As competition heats up in the tablet market, Apple is thought to be snapping up more component suppliers for the next iPad 3.

It is believed various companies have entered the supply chain for the production of the eagerly awaited iPad 3. Industry insiders have reported that Richtek Technology, Capella Microsystems, Novatek Microelectronics and Integrated Memory Logic have all recently setup supply deals with Apple.

None of the IC vendors have the confirmed the reports however if you do a little bit of research you will find all of these companies produce some sort of component needed for the iPad 3 so this rumour does really seem to far fetched.

With the recent news about the more-than-likely HD Retina Display to come shipped with the iPad 3 analysts have said that the manufacturing cost of the iPad 3 could be significantly higher than the previous models 1 & 2. It is believed Apple is trying to adjust its cost structure by sourcing new IC (Integrated circuit) suppliers to hopefully reduce passing the increased productions cost onto the customers. We will have to wait and see.
