Apple partners are spilling the beans on the new iPad 3
According to the Taiwan Economic News, most of the components we have been accustomed to will be the same. Panels for the iPad 3 continue to be from LG, while Hon Hai, also known as Foxconn, will be responsible for assembly. More panel makes can only mean a good thing for Taiwan’s industry. Included in the panel makes are TPK and Wintek. Allegedly, TPK has fixed September for delivery, with monthly shipments until December, Radiant Opto-Electronics Corp, a backlight module producer, has also been joined in the party.
With the well-known relationship with Samsung, Apple plans to go to Sharp instead. According to Taiwanese sources, Sharp has already started a new production line exclusively for Apple.
With regards to Foxconn, Apple seems to be hesitant on heavy reliance. It is reported that Apple plans to introduce Pegatron for backup purposes. This undoubtedly caused by a recent building explosion by Hon Hai. Although the amount of information release is meager, the iPad 3 still remains something to be anticipated and enjoyed.
